NEPSE Index Falls by Double Digits on Tuesday; Trading Volume Declines by Nearly 15%

Kathmandu — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by double digits on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week. The benchmark index declined by 27.64 points, closing at 2,595.24 points.
Trading volume also saw a notable drop compared to the previous day. While shares worth Rs 6.05 billion were traded on Monday, the amount decreased by 14.89% to Rs 5.15 billion on Tuesday.
During the day’s trading session, shares of 322 companies were exchanged, with a total of 10.34 million shares changing hands through 46,875 transactions.
All sectoral sub-indices ended in the red, with the Finance sector suffering the steepest decline of 2.21%. The Development Bank and Life Insurance sectors followed, dropping 1.47% and 1.44%, respectively.
Among the top gainers were Mabilung Energy, First Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha, and Bindhyabasini Hydropower Development Company.
On the losing side, Muktinath Krishi Company, Excel Development Bank, and Panchakanyamai Hydropower were the biggest decliners of the day.
