Government’s Consolidated Fund Turns Negative by Nearly Rs 200 Billion

Kathmandu: The Office of the Auditor General has submitted the Integrated Financial Statement of the central government accounts for the fiscal year 2081/82 (2024/25).
The submitted report also includes the annual internal audit report and the consolidated statement of government assets.
Auditor General Shobhakant Paudel handed over the comprehensive report to Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal on Sunday.
According to the report, the government’s Consolidated Fund showed a negative balance of Rs 196.34 billion, while the cash balance stood at a negative Rs 31.34 billion during the fiscal year.
However, taking into account the balances held in various funds and extra-budgetary accounts, the government’s total cash and bank balance was found to be positive by Rs 65.81 billion, the report stated.
