Neetu Shrestha Assumes Leadership at Nepal Youth Entrepreneurs' Forum, Lalitpur Chapter

Kathmandu, August 16th - In a significant appointment, Neetu Shrestha, a distinguished fashion designe and hotelier, has been appointed as the new President of the Nepal Youth Entrepreneurs' Forum's Lalitpur Chapter. Her appointment was confirmed during the third annual general meeting held in Kathmandu. Elvis Ranjit has been appointed as the First Vice President, with Anukul Shrestha serving as the Second Vice President, as announced in a press statement by the Chapter.

According to the forum's constitution, the outgoing leadership, comprising the President, First Vice President, and Second Vice President, based on the key performance index (KPI), appoints the new leadership and executive committee members for a one-year term.

The committee members of the Lalitpur Chapter include Prakiran Shrestha, Shikhar Pandey, Niraj Agrawal, Jush Shrestha, Palas Joshi, Ashank SJB Rana, and Nishan Dhakal. Former President Subin Shrestha continues as an Ex Officio member in the new committee.

Neetu Shrestha, in her new role, has announced plans to launch an incubation program aimed at providing business resources and mentorship to startup entrepreneurs. She intends to facilitate connections between entrepreneurs and international organizations and government bodies to explore opportunities and offer leadership development training. Emphasizing support for women entrepreneurs, she plans to create dedicated platforms and resources. Additionally, she aims to foster collaboration and innovation across different industries by bringing together members from diverse sectors.

During the inaugural session, former Youth and Sports Minister Viraj Bhakta Shrestha commended the chapter for electing a female leader and encouraged entrepreneurs to collaborate with government bodies for national progress. Despite challenges, he stressed the importance of optimism. He mentioned that during his tenure as Minister of Youth and Sports, he had prepared to announce a policy promoting the use of the "Made in Lalitpur" badge for athletes instead of imported ones. However, this initiative remains undone due to the dissolution of the government.

Highlighting potential in comparative advantage sectors like sports, he proposed hosting competitions, possibly involving South Korean golfers at Nepal's scenic golf courses.

Elvis Ranjit, the newly appointed First Vice President, reflected on the chapter's growth journey, noting its expansion from 15 members at its inception in 2021 to 90 members today.

During the opening session, outgoing President Subin Shrestha outlined achievements from the previous year, while newly appointed Second Vice President Anukul Shrestha highlighted programs carried out during the previous term. Sahara Joshi, Chair of the Youth Entrepreneurs Forum's National Governing Council, also addressed the session.
